Youth Workshop from November 28 to November 30, 2016 in Kobe, Japan
RIKEN AICS will organize a Youth Workshop for young researchers and students in computational science and technology. Through English presentations and discussions, this workshop aims to create a network of collaborations among young researchers, and to foster their research communication skills in an international setting, as well as improving their own research through the discussion.
1. Date and location
November 28 (Mon), 2016 to November 30 (Wed), 2016
RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science (AICS) in Kobe, Japan
Access: How to get there.
2. Purpose
- This workshop aims at creating a network of collaborations among young researchers, and at improving their research communication skills.
- This workshop is open to young researchers at corporations, universities and research institutes (including technical colleges and graduate schools) who is expected to become the next-generation leaders in the fields of computational science and high-performance computing.
- Young researchers from overseas who will be participating in the JLESC (Joint Laboratory on Extreme Scale Computing) at AICS in the same week will also participate in this workshop. To encourage participants to take the initiative in interacting with each other, presentations and group discussions will be held in English in small groups.
- AICS staffs will serve as mentors for each group and participate in the discussions.
Note: Official language is English.
*Affiliated partners: INRIA, the University of Illinois, NSCA, Argonne National Laboratory, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Juelich Supercomputing Center, and RIKEN AICS
