Large-scale Parallel Numerical Computing Technology Research Team
The Large-scale Parallel Numerical Computing Technology Research Team conducts research and development of large-scale, highly parallel and high-performance numerical software library on K computer. On development of simulation programs, various numerical algorithms such as for solving linear systems, eigenvalue problems, fast Fourier transform, and non-linear equations, are indispensable. To utilize full-potential of K computer, we must select algorithms and develop a numerical software library from the viewpoint of highly parallelism, high performance, high precision, resiliency, and scalability. This is achieved by tighter collaboration with computational sciences (simulation), computer science (hardware and software) and numerical mathematics. Our goal is to establish the fundamental technique on numerical software libraries related for next generation supercomputers with the strong cooperation within AICS.
