Joint Laboratory for Extreme Scale Computing (JLESC) is an international, virtual organization whose goal is to enhance the ability of member organizations and investigators to make the bridge between Petascale and Extreme computing. The founding partners of the JLESC are INRIA and the University of Illinois (UIUC). Further members are Argonne National Laboratory (ANL), Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), Julich Supercomputing Center (JSC) and RIKEN AICS.
JLESC involves computer scientists, engineers and scientists from other disciplines as well as from industry, to ensure that the research facilitated by the Laboratory addresses science and engineering's most critical needs and takes advantage of the continuing evolution of computing technologies.
The workshop will take place at RIKEN AICS in Kobe JAPAN, will gather top researchers in HPC from INRIA, UIUC, NCSA, ANL, BSC, JSC and RIKEN AICS to explore research problems related to post Petascale / Exascale Supercomputers and present early results of their joint work.
Overview
JLESC workshop will present an exceptional program with papers accepted or submitted to top level conferences. A key objective of the workshop is to identify new research collaborations and establish a roadmap for their implementation.
6th JLESC workshop in Kobe 2016 will feature technical sessions on five main topics:
- Application and Numerical libraries
- Parallel Programming, runtime and tools
- Resilience
- Big Data, I/O and visualization
- Cloud for HPC.
The workshop is open to UIUC, INRIA, NCSA, ANL, BSC, JSC and RIKEN AICS faculties, researchers, engineers and students who want to learn more about Post Petascale / Exascale Computing.
This will be the sixth edition of this workshop series
This workshop is supported by Hyogo Prefecture, Kobe City and FOCUS in the context of the COE project.
