Visa Information

All visitors to Japan must have a valid passport. Citizens of certain countries also need a visa to enter Japan. Please check the list of countries which have the visa exemption agreement with Japan, which is linked below. If your country is included in the list, you usually do not need to apply for a visa.

For those who need a visa, we suggest that they ask the nearest Embassy of Japan or Consulate-General of Japan office for the details of visa application. The process to obtain a visa usually takes some time and early application is recommended.
